Eco-peinture is responsible for the recovery of architectural paint residues and paint containers by means of a collection network set up throughout Quebec.
As a citizen, how
do you get involved?
Paint leftovers mainly originate from the citizens and, without them, the operation of recovering, recycling and re claiming paint residues in Quebec would be impossible.
Who are the
partners involved in this program?
Some 760 municipalities, over 550 paint retailers and 49 member companies are involved in this program; this represents nearly all brand owners and paint producers.
What does our recycling program consist of?
Eco-peinture sees that paint leftovers are transferred to a processing centre where they are transformed into the raw material used in recycled paint.
Did you know? Seven per cent of the 60 million litres of paint purchased by Quebecers every year will not be used immediately; this represents over 4 million litres of paint which will potentially turn out to be waste material.
Laurentide re/sources inc. is responsible for the recovery and recycling of paint containers and leftover paint originating from domestic consumption.
Once recycled, the paint is resold under various brand names, such as Boomerang and RONA ÉCO.
