Disposing of paint residues—a simple matter!

How to go about disposing of our paint residues in an eco-friendly manner?

Simply return your containers to one of the collection points nearest to your home. To find out where the collection points nearest to your home are located, click on this link, or get in touch with your retailer or your municipality.

It is then the responsibility of Eco-peinture to see that the containers are dispatched from the various drop-off locations (municipalities, retailers) to the location where the products are stored and recycled, Laurentide re/sources inc. in Victoriaville.

Remember that your empty paint containers are 100% recyclable.

Make sure to follow certain fundamental rules prior to disposing of your empty paint container:

• Thoroughly wipe your paintbrush against the side and around the rim of the container to remove all excess paint;
• Let the inside of the container dry for 24 hours;
• Dispose of the container without the cover (set the cover aside).

Your empty container and its cover will be dispatched to the area where metal and plastics are recovered. Contact your municipality to find out which method of recovery is favoured—the selective collection or the municipal ecocentre.
